Hello mister S Strong,  could you tell us how did you start to be a DJ ?
Hello, I’m Stelios ( S Strong ) from Athens, Greece and i’me DJ since the last 9 years. I remember i was so shy during the school years so I went straight into music to feel better (haha!). At the beginning,  I started to live and follow the greek hip-hop movement, still djing along with graffiti ! It was my main “elements”. Then I started to play into some small bars and parties around after school.

How did the S Strong project start?
The project started without lot of thinking. After some years, some unexpected stuff come to you . “S” is the first letter of my name and “Strong” is the half of my surname, also some people say I’m the strongest unsuccessful chef in Greek history.

How would you describe your music ?
As a DJ, I try to make the floor go on fire and I describe myself as a party DJ having tunes from dub,reggae, breaks, ghetto funk till dnb & jungle(which is my favorite for the party time!).
AS FOR THE SWING , of course this is the most of my sets & always intrigued me, but never had the courage or the quality of the remixes I wanted to make it proper. My edits are not always a floor burner but I love having them for a good warm up giving some feeling before the party goes bananas!

Many goods electro grooves producers and DJ, are coming from Greece. I’me thinking about Timewarp Music, Carnibal Records and the new one Katakana edits, working with a lot of reggae and tropical influences. Could you tell your collaboration about some greek artists and labels ?
Greece always had good DJs but last years the quality of the producers too is going over the top ! In electronic scene we have a tradition in house scene, but this part is not in my focus area now.In swing I support the Athens based Carnibal Records, with a very good taste on what they release and with pretty good swing stuff. I’m having collabs in DJ level with Phunk Sinatra and Funkanizer(also he controls my track masters) and others. With labels I haven’t made yet any steps for releases I’m giving away some free tracks and getting prepared for a forthcoming EP without any label in mind.

Could you say that there is a real european music movement about electro grooves production?
Electro swing last 5 years has been in the center of production, with all the good and bad stuff can have. A massive turn into a style can make it repellent for some people but for sure in the end the “smoke will clear” and the true followers will stay.

What is Electro Swing for you ?
A beloved style with a lot of groove, true feeling and potentials to evolve in something more!

How do you process to create your sound? What equipment do you use to produce cool tracks ?
My way of producing is computer based only except of some scratches or live bass additions. I chop samples from old tracks I usually have on vinyl and start “cooking”.

What’s your plans gentleman? Any cool tracks released soon?
Some special collabs and gourmet edits for all the hungry kids.

Could u tell us one of your best memories of your artistic life you want to share with us?
I want to share all my memories but I can’t remember them cause usually I’m drunk when I live them…
